Welcome to Moonlit English & Moonlit Literature.
 

This website presents two projects: Moonlit English, which focuses on calm, everyday English learning, and Moonlit Literature, which provides literary analyses, interpretations, articles and other literature-related resources.

Both projects provide content and other materials designed to support learning, exploration, critical thinking and enjoyment.

By accessing or using this website, you agree to use the website and its content responsibly and in accordance with these Terms of Use.

1. Content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original content published through Moonlit English or Moonlit Literature is protected by applicable intellectual property laws and belongs to the relevant project or its rights holder, or is used with the appropriate permission.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • written text and articles;

  • English-learning materials and teaching content;

  • videos and audio;

  • photographs, illustrations and other images;

  • worksheets, journals, word searches and downloadable materials;

  • designs, graphics and templates;

  • website content and structure;

  • literary analyses, interpretations, commentary and original critical discussions;

  • the Moonlit English and Moonlit Literature name, branding, logos and related designs; and

  • other original materials published through either project.


All rights are reserved unless otherwise stated.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership or intellectual-property rights in Moonlit English or Moonlit Literature content to you.

 

Where content discusses, reproduces or quotes from third-party literary works or other materials, the rights in those underlying works remain with their respective rights holders, subject to applicable law. The inclusion of such material does not imply that Moonlit English or Moonlit Literature owns it.

2. Personal use

You are welcome to access and use Moonlit English and Moonlit Literature content for your own personal, non-commercial learning, reference and enjoyment.

Where either project provides a material specifically for download or personal use, you may download, print and use that material for your own personal purposes.

Any additional conditions stated on an individual resource will also apply to that resource.

3. Restrictions on use

Unless you have prior written permission from the relevant rights holder, you may not:

  • copy or reproduce substantial parts of Moonlit English and Moonlit Literature content;

  • republish either project's content on another website, platform or social-media account;

  • sell, license, redistribute or commercially exploit materials from either project;

  • modify materials from either project and present them as your own work;

  • reproduce Moonlit English or Moonlit Literature worksheets, journals, activities, articles, scripts, audio, videos or other original materials for commercial purposes;

  • remove copyright, ownership or other identifying information from content belonging to either project;

  • systematically collect, copy or reproduce content from either project for use in another service, database or product; or

  • use content from either project to create materials that are substantially based on or derived from the original content for commercial purposes.


Sharing a link to the original website or its content is welcome.

Copying and republishing the content itself instead of sharing the original link is not permitted where doing so would breach these Terms or applicable intellectual-property law.

 

These restrictions apply to original content and to material protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. They do not prohibit uses permitted by law, including applicable exceptions and limitations relating to quotation, criticism, review or other lawful purposes.

4. Downloads and free materials

Some Moonlit English and Moonlit Literature materials may be made available free of charge.

Free availability does not transfer ownership or copyright to the person downloading the material.

Unless a particular resource states otherwise, free materials are provided for personal, non-commercial use only.

Any additional conditions stated on an individual resource will also apply to that resource.

5. Permission for other uses

If you would like to use Moonlit English or Moonlit Literature content for a purpose that is not permitted by these Terms, please contact:

Permission may be granted in writing for particular uses at the relevant rights holder's discretion.

 

Permission to use third-party material must be obtained from the relevant rights holder where required; permission from either project does not automatically grant rights in material owned by others.

6. Educational content

Moonlit English provides general English-learning and educational content.

 

Moonlit Literature provides general literary information, analyses, interpretations, commentary and articles intended to support learning, reading and critical thinking.

The content is intended to support learning and is not intended to replace professional advice or specialist instruction where such advice or instruction is required.

 

Literary analyses and interpretations represent perspectives for consideration rather than definitive or exclusive readings of a work. Readers are encouraged to think critically and form their own interpretations.

Neither project guarantees that every piece of educational content will be suitable for every learner or that using the website will result in a particular learning outcome.

7. Website content and availability

This website aims to provide useful, accurate and reliable content, but cannot guarantee that the website or its content will always be:

  • available or accessible;

  • uninterrupted;

  • completely accurate or up to date;

  • free from errors, omissions or technical problems; or

  • compatible with every device, browser or technical environment.


The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, hosting or technical problems, security issues, internet or telecommunications failures, or circumstances outside the reasonable control of the website operator.

The website operator may update, change, suspend or remove website content or functionality where reasonably necessary.

8. Third-party websites and links

The website may occasionally provide links to third-party websites or services.

These websites are operated independently from Moonlit English and Moonlit Literature. Neither project controls or accepts responsibility for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or policies.

The inclusion of a link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the linked website or service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website operator shall not be liable for losses or damages arising from:
 

  • temporary or permanent unavailability of the website;

  • technical errors, interruptions or failures;

  • inaccuracies or omissions in website content;

  • reliance on general educational or literary information provided through the website;

  • the use of or inability to use third-party websites or services linked from the website; or

  • circumstances outside the reasonable control of the website operator.


Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

These Terms of Use may be updated when the website, Moonlit English, Moonlit Literature, its content or its services develop, or when applicable legal requirements change.

11. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by Spanish law, unless mandatory provisions of another applicable law provide otherwise.

Any disputes arising from the use of this website or these Terms of Use shall be dealt with by the competent courts and tribunals determined in accordance with applicable law.

Where mandatory consumer-protection or other jurisdiction rules apply, those rules will take precedence over this provision.

These Terms of Use have been prepared with reference to applicable Spanish and European legislation, including, where applicable:

  • Law 7/1998 on General Contracting Conditions;

  • Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE);

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR); and

  • Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).
